Miscellaneous books

Zaishuzhu is a large private public library as well as a free public library.

With a collection area of more than 3000 square meters, the library has a collection of nearly one million books (pieces) and nearly 1000 pieces of paper literature. Among them, there are more than 200000 thread bound ancient books and documents of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, more than 200000 periodicals and books of the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, more than 50000 western language books, more than 100000 new books, and more than 200000 celebrity letters and manuscripts. The new library has more than 200000 new books.

There are two library areas in zaishuzhu: Sinology Museum and new book library. The library of Chinese studies is divided into three layers, eight branches. On the first floor, there are Western Sinology Museum, special collection new book library, celebrity letters and manuscripts archives 1, 2 wired ancient books, national folk customs ancient books, celebrity letters and manuscripts archives, and the third floor is the journal library of the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China library.

The library collects nearly 14000 kinds of periodicals of the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, including more than 100000 volumes, including most of the important periodicals at that time. Among them, there are more than 9000 original periodicals and hundreds of periodicals in the late Qing Dynasty. Among them, nearly 4000 kinds of periodicals or some of them have not been published. It has important literature value for the study of social life and cultural changes in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.

The collection features of the journals of the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China are as follows

1、 There are more than 9000 initial issues. The first issue is the birth certificate of each journal. It is necessary to introduce itself to readers for the first time, such as the purpose, style, column setting and editorial staff composition of the journal, which has special research value. Among the more than 14000 kinds of periodicals in our library, more than 9000 contain the first or special issue numbers.

2、 More than 4000 journals have not been published. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, although many public and private institutions were making efforts to rescue the journals of the Republic of China, a large number of resources were scattered among the people and were not seriously protected. There are more than 4000 kinds of periodicals or some of them have not been recorded in public. This is the first time that the library made public, which will inject new historical data into the study of the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.

3、 There were hundreds of periodicals in the late Qing Dynasty. Since the beginning of the late Qing Dynasty, periodicals were rare. This time, our library will open hundreds of precious journals of the late Qing Dynasty, which are the most vivid records of the social culture and life of the late Qing Dynasty, and have great literature value.

4、 There are more than 100 yearbooks. The Yearbook is an important document based on the annual data. Because of the war and turbulence in modern China, the historical data are scattered. It is the Yearbook that keeps the relatively complete annual data of all walks of life. During the period of the Republic of China, there were few kinds of yearbooks published. According to the current statistics, there are only more than 280 kinds of almanacs published in the Republic of China.

5、 There are a large number of journals approved and signed by celebrities. A large number of publications in miscellaneous books have been approved and signed by celebrities and scholars. They are important historical materials for the study of social intercourse and thoughts of cultural celebrities, and have special research value.

Among them, the collection of more than ten fields has its own system, which is among the best in both public and private collections at home and abroad.

1、 Literature research. This collection contains thousands of literary research works published in the Republic of China, including the basic books on literary history, literary review and the study of writers' works at that time.

2、 History. There are thousands of historical works published in the Republic of China in our library. These books record the historical research situation of the Republic of China from different aspects, which is of great significance to historical research and to understand the thoughts of historians.

3、 Philosophy. There are thousands of philosophy books in the Republic of China. Translation of philosophers' works and classic works of western philosophy is an important material that cannot be ignored in philosophical research.

4、 Sociology and folklore. There are more than 1000 kinds of books on Sociology and folklore in the Republic of China, which fully reflect the scholars' research and Discussion on social life, customs and culture at that time.

5、 Pedagogy. The library collects thousands of works on pedagogy and related works during the period of the Republic of China, which reveals the influence of educational management system, educational philosophy and Western pedagogy ideas on China.

6、 Teaching materials. There are more than 4000 kinds of teaching materials at all levels in our library during the period of the Republic of China, involving literature, history, philosophy, economics, law and other subjects, reflecting the direction and ideal of education in the period of great change, as well as the conflict and integration of various educational ideas.

7、 Political science. There are nearly 1000 kinds of political science related works in the period of the Republic of China in our library, which is of great literature value for the study of various political behaviors and political relations in the society in the special historical period, as well as the activities and forms of the state and public power at that time.

8、 Economics. There are thousands of economic works of the Republic of China in our library, which not only contains the representative works of many economists at that time, but also has a comprehensive collection of western economic translation works. It is of great value to study the economic development pattern of the Republic of China and the influence of western economics on China.

9、 Management. There are nearly 1000 kinds of management works in the Republic of China. In China, there has always been the fact of "management", but it has not been systematized and theorized. During the period of the Republic of China, western management books were introduced into China, and the academic circles studied them and tried to localize them. These academic works produced at that time undoubtedly have strong characteristics of the times, and have important reference value for understanding the management thoughts, management contents and methods in the period of the Republic of China.

10、 Finance and finance. There are more than 1000 books on finance and finance in the Republic of China. It not only covers the representative works of major financial scholars, but also has a large number of translation works about western finance. It has important literature value for studying the main schools and thoughts of Finance in the period of the Republic of China.

11、 Law. There are more than 1000 kinds of legal works in the Republic of China in our library, including the research and discussion of the domestic legal system, legal phenomena and laws of that time and the past dynasties by the jurists of the Republic of China, as well as the translation works related to the western legal system, which are important evidences for the development of legal thoughts in the Republic of China.

12、 Press and publication. There are nearly 1000 kinds of press and publication works in the Republic of China. In the 20th century, journalism as an independent discipline has been widely discussed, and the journalism works written by Chinese people have been published one after another. These collections have an important reference value for the study of Chinese journalists' thoughts, news history and related social culture.

13、 Literature on the history of Sino foreign relations. There are nearly 1000 kinds of documents related to the history of Sino foreign relations in the period of the Republic of China, reflecting the foreign policy, economic exchanges and folk cultural exchanges of the government at that time.

14、 Red literature. There are more than 3000 kinds of red documents in our library. Red literature generally refers to the revolutionary literature published before October 1949, which records the great course of the Communist Party of China striving for national independence and people's liberation.

15、 Marxism Leninism spread literature in China. There are more than 2000 kinds of books in our library. The spread of Marxism Leninism in China is one of the major events in the 20th century. These documents are of great value to the study of the development of Chinese Communist ideology, to explore the spread track of Marxism Leninism in China and its influence on China.

16、 A dictionary. The library has more than 1000 dictionaries of the Republic of China, covering natural sciences, social sciences, human geography, literary history and many other fields. Dictionary is a comprehensive reflection of the ideology and culture of a period, reflecting the general cognitive level and main ideas of the society in a certain field at that time. Dictionaries are of great value to the study of social thought changes and knowledge development.

It mainly contains more than 50000 volumes of western language books mainly in English since the 17th century, ranking first among the known domestic private collections. Among them, "Western Sinology literature", "Zhan's old collection of Western books", "western academic original literature" and "celebrities' collection and reading of Western books" are unique.

1、 Western Sinological literature. There are more than 10000 volumes of documents about China published overseas before 1949, including travel notes of early China, records of major historical events in China, regional investigation and folk custom research in China, books and periodicals of Jesuits and Protestant missionaries who came to China to preach since the end of Ming Dynasty. These documents are the historical witness of the cultural exchange between China and the west, from which we can see that China and Chinese culture in the eyes of westerners are a historical mirror for China to go to the world today.

2、 Zhan's old collection of Western books. This collection has nearly ten thousand copies of western language books collected by Zhan's family in beichizi, which is the characteristic collection of miscellaneous books. This collection contains a large number of western historical and cultural classics. It has been collected by Chaoyang University, Peking University of political science and law, Renmin University of China and other institutions and approved by many celebrities. It is the first-hand material for studying the cultural exchange between China and the West.

3、 Western academic original literature. This collection has a large number of important original editions of western sociology, folklore, economics, management, and formed a number of collection series, which has high academic value.

4、 Celebrities collect and read western books. There are a large number of western language books collected and read by famous scholars in this collection, which are the first-hand materials for studying the thoughts of these famous scholars.

It has more than 100000 volumes of ancient books and documents from the Tang and Song Dynasties to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, which is the largest private collection in China. The important collections include: Ming edition books, Qing Dynasty palace edition books, Qing Dynasty block printed books, collection of poems and articles of the Republic of China at the end of Qing Dynasty, series of Ming and Qing Dynasties, new learning documents of Western learning at the end of Qing Dynasty, school textbooks such as thread binding high school, editions of Tang, song, Liao and Yuan Dynasties.

1、 There are more than five hundred kinds of books in Ming Dynasty, which are characterized by early Ming block printed edition, Ming fan Fu block printed edition, Ming engraving and Ming edition series.

2、 In Qing Dynasty, there are about 100 kinds of books. The palace edition books of the Qing Dynasty were engraved by the royal family of the Qing Dynasty, with excellent paper and ink. The quantity and quality of the Zhongdian edition of miscellaneous books are among the best in private collections in China.

3、 The number of block printed books in Qing Dynasty is rich, with nearly 3000 kinds, which basically covers the works of important writers in different periods of Qing Dynasty, among which there are many rare editions, which are the first-hand documents for studying the history and culture of Qing Dynasty.

4、 There are thousands of collections of poems and essays in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. These collections of poems and essays reflect the changes of social culture and current situation in the late Qing Dynasty from different aspects. There are a large number of first edition works of important figures, which are important materials for studying the culture and thoughts of the late Qing Dynasty.

The collection is rich in thread bound local literature, culture, folk custom and historical documents of the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, including Tanci, Guci, libretto, Baojuan, Muyu book, Chaoge, novel, opera, preschool literature and local Za Zi, totaling more than 30000 kinds and more than 100000 volumes. This part of the collection is the most characteristic treasure of zaishuzhu, and it is the first collection in the central public and private library.

1、 There are more than 3000 kinds of Guci. Guci is an art form of Han Opera, which is mainly popular in northern China. Before the Republic of China, the value of Guci literature was seriously underestimated. It was not until Lu Xun and other famous scholars began to study the folk custom that the drum Ci was paid attention to. According to the catalogue of Chinese drum lyrics, there are nearly 5000 kinds of drum lyrics collected by libraries all over the country. At present, there are more than 3000 kinds of drum lyrics collected in miscellaneous books, ranking first among the public and private collections at home and abroad.

2、 There are hundreds of Tanci. Tanci is a popular form of rap literature in southern China, accompanied by Pipa and Sanxian, with obvious regional characteristics. After the rise of Chinese folklore, Tanci began to attract scholars' attention. There are more than 270 kinds of Tanci in the bibliography of Tanci Baojuan, which shows that these Qu CI literature with regional characteristics still needs to be found and studied. At present, the collection of miscellaneous books is among the best at home and abroad.

3、 There are more than 10000 librettos, ranking first in the public and private collections at home and abroad. Libretto is the script copy of Quyi or opera libretto. The libretto collected in miscellaneous books is rich in subjects. There are not only many traditional librettos of Chinese historical events and characters, but also many important events in modern history, such as the Xinhai Revolution, the May 4th movement, the war of resistance against Japan, and the red libretto, which provide a folk perspective for understanding the important historical facts. These libretto covers a wide area, and there are hundreds of libretto in some provinces and cities, which are the treasure of local folk culture research.

4、 There are more than 4000 different editions of Baojuan, which ranks first among the public and private collections at home and abroad. Baojuan is a form of rap literature evolved from the "popular talk" in the temples of the Tang Dynasty. As the carrier of folk religious thought and folk popular culture, Baojuan reflects the religious belief and cultural life of the lower class people in different times. It has not been fully explored, sorted out and studied. According to the general catalogue of Chinese Baojuan, there are more than 5000 different editions of Baojuan collected in China and abroad. Among them, there are more than 20 kinds of the Ming edition.

5、 There are hundreds of wooden fish books. Muyushu is a kind of Tanci music. It is often accompanied by three strings and sung by blind people. It is popular in Cantonese area of Guangdong Province. At present, the largest collection is the songbook of wooden fish song in the coastal areas of southern China, which is written in Cantonese. Among the miscellaneous books, the amount of wooden fish books is among the best in China.

6、 There are hundreds of Chaoge songs. Chaoge is a kind of folk rap literature of Han nationality in Chaoshan area of Guangdong Province. It is compiled with Chaoshan dialect and has strong regional characteristics. It is the best material for studying Chaoshan dialect and folk custom. At present, there is no large-scale description of Chaoge literature in China.

7、 There are more than 1000 kinds of thread bound novels and operas in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. This kind of literature is very important to the development of Ming and Qing Dynasty literature and social life.

8、 There are more than 5000 kinds of local miscellaneous characters and children's literature, which ranks first among the public and private collections at home and abroad. Most of the local characters are regarded as children's enlightenment books and Literacy Textbooks, but this is not the case. There are many kinds of local miscellaneous characters, involving a wide range of areas. They are the life guide of most people in traditional Chinese society. They have high local cultural value and are encyclopedia reflecting local folk culture. The literature of preschool education is the only education book for most people before liberation, and it is an important traditional cultural resource.

2、 The letters of celebrities collected in our library have formed a series in dozens of important fields, including the reform movement of 1898, the May 4th movement, the Southwest Associated University, the study of Redology, the study of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, etc.

Collection of master manuscripts: manuscripts are manuscripts of writers and scholars, which preserve the original appearance of the works.
